55-year-old former model battles breast cancer with diet changes; refuses chemo and surgery

(www.Borganic.org) The story of former model Jessica Richards' battle with cancer is a remarkable one, especially because it has defected from the use of conventional treatments like chemotherapy, radiation, or surgery. In her book The Topic of Cancer, Richards explains how following a strict metabolic diet and receiving high-dose intravenous injections of vitamin C has helped successfully reverse the progression of her breast cancer, to the shock of many conventional doctors.

It is a story you will likely never hear from the mainstream media, at least not from the perspective of being taken seriously, and yet it is one that people desperately need to hear. Rather than follow in the footsteps of the millions of others who have lost their lives as a result of all the cutting, burning, and poisoning, Richards made the personal, informed decision to naturally fight breast cancer by feeding her body a plethora of cancer-fighting nutrients, and cutting out a host of cancer-causing foods and substances.

After learning that she had an unusually large tumor in one of her breasts, Richards was told by her doctors that she would need to begin an aggressive treatment protocol that involved removing the breast, having it reconstructed, and undergoing an intense series of radiation and hormone treatments to keep it at bay. Knowing a bit about the toll this would take on her body, Richards decided to take a different route.

"The cancer consultant who'd done my ultrasound scans said my tumor was so large I'd need accelerated chemotherapy for several months," writes Richards about her initial diagnosis. "He said I would almost certainly need a mastectomy or at least a large lumpectomy with significant reconstruction, my lymph nodes removed, radiotherapy and five years of hormone-altering drugs after that."

After researching alternative options, Richards decided to eliminate all dairy and sugar from her diet, including most fruits, and instead eat lots of vegetables and take high doses of vitamin C intravenously. After just three weeks of starting this regimen, which many said she was crazy to undertake at the expense of conventional treatments, scans showed that Richards' tumor had essentially "gone to sleep," and was in the process of regressing. Almost immediately after beginning the protocol, in fact, Richards began to see drastic improvements.

"I switched from a generally healthy diet to a metabolic one, focusing on alkaline over acid foods and cutting out all sugars," adds Richards. "I also cut out all grains and most fruit, which are broken down into sugars. Instead, I concentrated on leafy green vegetables, short grain rice, quinoa and linseeds, and cut out all dairy, which is pumped with artificial hormones. I also had regular high-dose infusions of vitamin C, a natural form of chemotherapy."

With the help of alternative cancer specialists, Richards has all but completely cured her cancer

After several months of adhering to her strict diet, which she admits has not always been easy, Richards was told by her consultant radiologist that her tumor was effectively breaking down in the same way as it would with intensive chemotherapy, except without all the organ damage and other deadly side effects. A little over a year after first being diagnosed with cancer, Richards was able to stop her intravenous vitamin C injections -- and not long after that was told that she was completely healthy, and would not have to return for a checkup for another year.

Today, Richards is healthier than ever, and has never once had to be blasted with radiation, poisoned with chemicals, or had a knife cut her skin.

Woman mutates, hair follicles begin growing black fingernails

(www.Borganic.org) A former beautician and law student has baffled doctors with perhaps the most bizarre thing most of them have ever seen: Her body is growing fingernails from all of her hair follicles.

Shanyna Isom, 28, has consulted every specialist she can think of, including one in the Netherlands, but she still doesn't have a clue about what is wrong with her.

"Black scabs were coming out of her skin," her mother, Kathy Gary, told ABC's"Good Morning, America." "The nails would grow so long and come out and regrow themselves. They are hard to touch and stick you."

It's not just her skin that's been affected; her bones and vision have as well. In fact, she now walks with a cane and relies on her mother to help her out of bed each day.

Isom is currently being treated by doctors at Johns Hopkins Medical Center in Baltimore. They have told her family she's the only one in the world with her condition.

The treatment - such as it is - has been expensive. She's racked up a half-million dollars in medical bills, and though she's got state insurance (Tennessee), it doesn't cover medical care in Maryland. And costs are only going to rise; Isom and her mother go to Baltimore once a month from Memphis so doctors there can monitor her treatment.

'I am blessed'

Worse, her mother has lost her job as a medical receptionist because she has to stay at home to take care of her.

For now, Isom is putting her energy into creating the SAI Foundation, named after her initials, so she can help treat others with rare, mysterious illnesses.

She's getting some high-profile help. Bank of America has said they would take donations at their branch offices. Also, help has been more personal; friends have organized fundraisers, and even her former high school dedicated a football game to her charity.

And though she's been struck with a debilitating illness, she has remained upbeat, telling ABCNews.com, "I don't know whether to smile or cry. I am very blessed."

Nonetheless, she does have moments of frustration. On her blog, "Pray For Shayna," she has written, "It has taken all of my hair out and has left my body with scabs all over it, plus I have lost about 200 pounds. Two years ago, I was a healthy woman on my own ... had big dreams and goals that I was following until one day my body completely shut down on me."

In 2009, when she was struck by this bizarre illness, Isom was a junior studying criminal justice, said WLBT in Memphis, which first reported her case.

Initially, she went to an emergency room for an asthma attack, where doctors gave her a large steroid dose. Later, they suspected the steroids may have caused an allergic reaction because once she got home, Isom said she began itching. Doctors then prescribed Benadryl, but the itching got worse.

"It was uncontrollable and we didn't know what it was," her mother said.

Soon thereafter, her legs turned black. "It looked as if she had been in a house fire and gotten burned," Gary said.

Finally, some answers - and improvement

Doctors then began treating her for eczema and a staph infection but nothing seemed to work, and all her medical tests came back negative.

Initially, physicians treating her said she would probably just have to deal with it for the rest of her life but she and her mother refused to accept that.

Doctors at Johns Hopkins eventually found a couple of things going on. For one, they found that her body was producing 12 times the normal amount of skin cells in each hair follicle. So, instead of growing hair, she was growing nails.

Also, doctors didn't think her skin was getting enough oxygen, and they discovered she was low in vitamins A, B, C, D and K, her mother said.

Treatment seems to be helping now.

"Her legs aren't covered in black scabs," said her mother. "They are looking better, and her face just looks like she has a real bad sunburn."

Isom is currently on 25 medications.

Why doctors are more dangerous than guns - new Health Ranger investigation video

(www.Borganic.org) According to U.S. government statistics, you are 6200% more likely to be killed by your doctor than by a homicidal shooter. This is the topic of our new video that's just been released on YouTube and TV.NaturalNews.com. (Links below.)

This mini-documentary by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, is based on U.S. government statistics from the Centers for Disease Control, combined with doctor-caused deaths published in the Journal of the American Medical Association.

These data show that FDA-approved prescription drugs kill 290 Americans every single day, meaning that for mass shootings to approach that number, you'd have to see a Colorado Batman movie massacre take place EVERY HOUR of every day, 365 days a year.

Or, you'd have to see a jumbo jet airliner with hundreds of passengers crash into the ground every single day in America. That's how dangerous doctors and FDA-approved prescription medications really are.
