How and why to take cancer prevention seriously

(www.Borganic.org) Perhaps the number one reason to take cancer prevention seriously is that cancer often grows in the body for twenty years before it is detected. That means that people diagnosed with cancer in their thirties started growing it in their teens. If they're diagnosed in their forties, it's probably been around since their twenties. This means two things. One, lifestyle habits are both so toxic and off-based for what the human body requires that lots of people are getting sick way before even what we think of as their time. The best cancer prevention diet centers around fruits, vegetables, seeds, nuts, and herbs. Adding in lots of mushrooms is great too. While you don't have to do all raw all the time, as much of it that you can is your best bet too.

There is so much research on these foods for cancer and disease prevention that it's mind-boggling, although most of it centers around one food or another. But, if you start to add it all up, it becomes clear what the diet is that prevents most diseases, and it's a diet from nature that doesn't include meat or dairy.

Adding lots of broccoli, greens, beets, and cabbage while omitting GMO foods, like corn, is also a good idea. And if you get into juicing, you can deliciously consume far more of these key foods than most people can eat.

Then, get lots of sunshine too. There is an abundance of information that adequate vitamin D levels prevent cancer and other diseases, so make weekends your sun time and have lunch outside when you can too. The reality that humans spend so much time indoors is also unnatural for us. The fact is most of the diseases we suffer from weren't around a few thousand years ago, or if they were, they were rare. So, what does this tell us? Our unnatural diets and lifestyles are creating them.

Aside from diets that are sugared, carb laden, and processed, many chemicals in the air, water, and the products around us are also known to cause cancer and other diseases. THC, found in cannabis, shown to be effective in the treatment of brain tumors

(www.Borganic.org) Over the last decade, a multitude of studies have been conducted, aimed at testing the effect of cannabis compounds on several types of health conditions, including cancer, multiple sclerosis, heart disease, nausea, and many more.

In 2000, scientists at the Complutense University of Madrid carried out an extensive experiment, testing the effects of THC on cancerous brain cells in laboratory rats. Their discoveries were nothing short of amazing, as THC had effectively managed to destroy all cancer cells, while leaving healthy cells unaffected. Research into the effects of THC on glioblastoma would have had the potential to revolutionize available cancer treatments, yet due to insufficient funding and poor public exposure, the science team was unable to further their research.

At the time, lead researcher Manuel Guzman explained that "cannabinoids are selective antitumor compounds, as they can kill tumor cells without affecting their non-transformed counterparts." In contrast to this, chemotherapy, the prevalent anticancer treatment of today, consists of a combination of antineoplastic drugs that have devastating physical and psychological side-effects, which may include:

- depression of the immune system, which can expose the body to fatal infections
- chronic fatigue and anemia
- gastrointestinal distress
- hair loss
- infertility
- cognitive impairment
- teratogenicity (which means chemotherapy carries the risk of inducing genetic mutations that lead to malformations in fetuses, if the mother undergoes chemotherapy)

Dr. Guzman goes on to explain that THC has the exact opposite effect on the body, actively nurturing and even protecting healthy bodily cells from premature cell death. For the 2000 study, Guzman and his science team injected glioma cancer cells into the brains of 45 rats, to induce brain tumors. The rats were then divided into 3 groups: 15 rats were subjected to THC infusions for seven days; 15 were subjected to a synthetic cannabinoid infusion; and the remaining 15 were left untreated.

The rats that had received no treatment died in under 3 weeks. The tumors in 3 of the rats from the THC group vanished completely, while the other rats in this group showed significant improvement, living a lot longer than the rats that had received no treatment. The cannabinoid group had also shown major signs of improvement. Guzman explained that gliomas are among the most aggressive tumors that currently affect human beings, and because of their attachment to the brain or spine, they are extremely dangerous to operate on and are resilient to drugs and radiation.

Guzman believes that THC works by triggering the build-up of a chemical messenger known as ceramide, which in turn induces apoptosis (or programmed cell death) in mutated tumor cells. Subsequent research into the properties of THC has revealed that it is among the very few naturally occurring, harmless substances that are capable of inducing programmed cell death in cancerous cells. Other substances with this property include anandamide, other cannabinoids and tumor necrosis factors produced by the immune system in its attempt to fight cancer.

After months of effort to obtain funding for testing the medical effects of THC on human tissues, the Madrid science team was forced to abandon this project, although there is currently no effective treatment available for malignant brain tumors.

Monsanto, GMOs, and the global genocide of science and humanity

(www.Borganic.org) In a recent interview on Infowars Nightly News (INN), international bestselling author Jeffrey M. Smith reveals in shocking detail the biotechnology industry's laundry list of perpetual crimes against humanity via its propagation of genetically-modified organisms (GMOs). Smith explains how biotech giant Monsanto, in particular, has rigged the entire system to push its deadly products on the populations of the world.

Citing numerous scientists and former industry representatives that are now blowing the whistle in regards to the corruption, Smith sheds light on the fraudulent "science" that continues to be used to thrust GMOs on the public, and the revolving door between the biotech industry and politics that allows it to continue.

"We're feeding the products of an infant science to the entire population and planting them outdoors where they cross-pollinate, and the self-propagating pollution of the gene pool is permanent," says Smith. "We have no technology to fully clean it up. So the genes we release today can outlast the effects of global warming and nuclear waste."

In the Bertram Verhaag documentary Scientists Under Attack, Dr. Arpad Pusztai speaks out about how the biotech industry destroyed his own career. Pusztai, a biochemist and nutritionist who was made a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, was fired from his position at the Rowett Institute of Nutrition and Health after his independent study on GM potatoes revealed that GM traits are inherently dangerous.

"The most shocking moment in his life was actually reading the superficial, flimsy studies done by the biotech industry, including Monsanto, to get their foods on the market," says Smith about Pusztai's later realizations that "what [he] was doing and what they were doing was diametrically opposed. [He] was doing safety studies, but these companies, the biotech companies, were doing as little as possible to get their foods on the market as quickly as possible."

Several other scientists have also had their careers destroyed for daring to conduct real, independent scientific research into GMOs. Some have even been physically assaulted, resulting in their permanent paralyzation, for speaking out against the biotech industry's deliberate use of flawed, poorly-conducted studies to get their products approved for human consumption.

"They confound the (study) design to make it really difficult to find something that's statistically significant," adds Smith. "In Monsanto's 1996 Journal of Nutrition study, which Arpad Pusztai told me that everyone in his team knew was rigged to avoid finding problems, they diluted the feed so they only had one-twelfth the amount of protein as the GM soy, so there's almost no GM soy in this supposed feeding study."

Protect our children - Teach them how to avoid the onslaught of STD vaccinations

(www.Borganic.org) On October 9, 2011, a new California law, AB 499, upgraded children to adult status. This law allows minors to consent to STD vaccinations without their parent's knowledge. At first glance, the law seems like it is supporting children by allowing them to make their own medical decisions. In reality, this law serves another purpose. AB 499 allows medical personal to coerce children into receiving STD vaccinations, eliminating parents from being involved or from giving consent. Children now more than ever need three introductory tips on how to protect themselves from receiving these vaccinations from authority figures they have previously been groomed to obey.

The first step is to have your child write a waiver exempting him or her from all STD vaccinations and place it in his/her school file. As young as twelve, children have the authority to grant permission or to decline STD vaccinations. In the waiver, or letter, the child should make it clear that he or she is not to be pulled out of any classes for STD vaccination lectures or the administration of STD vaccinations. Parents can also write and sign a separate letter to be placed in the file stating that they are aware of their child's request and expect it to be followed, as AB 499 legally gives their child the right to decline STD vaccinations. These letters should be written by both sexes since Big Pharma intends to profit from boys as well. Furthermore, an updated letter should be written every new school year to ensure that the nurse is aware of your child's feelings and legal stance.

The second step is to educate your child about Gardasil and Cervarix through research. According to Pharmalot, "As of January 15, 2011, [Gardasil] had 21,171 adverse reactions and 91 deaths reported to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System." Children can arm themselves with statistics and demonstrate that minors cannot be manipulated into harming themselves just because a handful of California politicians thought they would be easy prey and easy money. Education on the part of the child ensures a doctor cannot get away with altering the truth.

The third and final step as an introduction to protecting themselves is to unlearn proper etiquette when conversing with an authority figure. A child's life may be counting on his or her ability to effectively question adults, even though adults may view this as talking back. Since the state of California gives children the power to decline STD vaccinations just as any adult can, children need to be taught to view health care practitioners as equals. A minor has the right to leave a medical setting, even at school. They can say, "No," firmly, with their hands over their ears if the nurse continues to talk about STD vaccinations. Everything that a child has been taught to say to a drug dealer, including escape tactics, should be taught as a response to someone intending to administer a shot. Just like with a potential kidnapper, this is no time for being polite. Teach your child to get away and to get away fast! Have the child return later with a parent to be certain the events that transpired have been documented. If your child was harassed, report the doctor to the AMA.

This law doesn't have to make children victims. It can empower them. AB 499 is not just a law allowing children to obtain STD vaccinations secretly. It is an opportunity for them to legally decline vaccinations.

FDA finally admits chicken meat contains cancer-causing arsenic

(www.Borganic.org) After years of sweeping the issue under the rug and hoping no one would notice, the FDA has now finally admitted that chicken meat sold in the USA contains arsenic, a cancer-causing toxic chemical that's fatal in high doses. But the real story is where this arsenic comes from: It's added to the chicken feed on purpose!

Even worse, the FDA says its own research shows that the arsenic added to the chicken feed ends up in the chicken meat where it is consumed by humans. So for the last sixty years, American consumers who eat conventional chicken have been swallowing arsenic, a known cancer-causing chemical. (http://www.phillyburbs.com/news/loc...)

Until this new study, both the poultry industry and the FDA denied that arsenic fed to chickens ended up in their meat. The fairytale excuse story we've all been fed for sixty years is that "the arsenic is excreted in the chicken feces." There's no scientific basis for making such a claim... it's just what the poultry industry wanted everybody to believe.

But now the evidence is so undeniable that the manufacturer of the chicken feed product known as Roxarsone has decided to pull the product off the shelves (http://www.grist.org/food-safety/20...). And what's the name of this manufacturer that has been putting arsenic in the chicken feed for all these years? Pfizer, of course -- the very same company that makes vaccines containing chemical adjuvants that are injected into children.

Technically, the company making the Roxarsone chicken feed is a subsidiary of Pfizer, called Alpharma LLC. Even though Alpharma now has agreed to pull this toxic feed chemical off the shelves in the United States, it says it won't necessarily remove it from feed products in other countries unless it is forced by regulators to do so. As reported by AP:

"Scott Brown of Pfizer Animal Health's Veterinary Medicine Research and Development division said the company also sells the ingredient in about a dozen other countries. He said Pfizer is reaching out to regulatory authorities in those countries and will decide whether to sell it on an individual basis." (http://www.usatoday.com/money/indus...)

Arsenic? Eat more!

But even as its arsenic-containing product is pulled off the shelves, the FDA continues its campaign of denial, claiming arsenic in chickens is at such a low level that it's still safe to eat. This is even as the FDA says arsenic is a carcinogen, meaning it increases the risk of cancer.

The National Chicken Council agrees with the FDA. In a statement issued in response to the news that Roxarsone would be pulled from feed store shelves, it stated, "Chicken is safe to eat" even while admitting arsenic was used in many flocks grown and sold as chicken meat in the United States.

What's astonishing about all this is that the FDA tells consumers it's safe to eat cancer-causing arsenic but it's dangerous to drink elderberry juice! The FDA recently conducted an armed raid in an elderberry juice manufacturer, accusing it of the "crime" of selling "unapproved drugs." (http://www.naturalnews.com/032631_e...) Which drugs would those be? The elderberry juice, explains the FDA. You see, the elderberry juice magically becomes a "drug" if you tell people how it can help support good health.

The FDA has also gone after dozens of other companies for selling natural herbal products or nutritional products that enhance and support health. Plus, it's waging a war on raw milk which it says is dangerous. So now in America, we have a food and drug regulatory agency that says it's okay to eat arsenic, but dangerous to drink elderberry juice or raw milk.

Eat more poison, in other words, but don't consume any healing foods. That's the FDA, killing off Americans one meal at a time while protecting the profits of the very companies that are poisoning us with their deadly ingredients.

Oh, by the way, here's another sweet little disturbing fact you probably didn't know about hamburgers and conventional beef: Chicken litter containing arsenic is fed to cows in factory beef operations. So the arsenic that's pooped out by the chickens gets consumed and concentrated in the tissues of cows, which is then ground into hamburger to be consumed by the clueless masses who don't even know they're eating second-hand chicken sh*t. Cleanse your digestive system the easy way by eating kitchari

Kitchari

Yields 4 servings

1 cup white basmati rice
1 cup split mung beans
1 tablespoon ghee
1 /4 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 /4 teaspoon brown mustard seeds
1 /4 teaspoon turmeric
1 /4 teaspoon rock salt or sea salt
4 cups water

1. Rinse the rice and mung beans until the water is clear.
2. In a saucepan over medium heat, heat the ghee and add the mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Stir a moment until the seeds pop.
3. Add the rice, mung beans, turmeric, and salt, and stir until well blended with the spices.
4. Add the water and bring to a boil. Boil for 5 minutes, uncovered, stirring occasionally.
5. Turn down the heat to low and cover, leaving the lid slightly ajar. Cook until tender, about 20-25 minutes.

How to heal a cavity naturally organic

(www.Borganic.org) Having a dentist drill out a tooth and fill it with composite, ceramic, or toxic amalgam is not the only way to deal with the onset of a cavity. Sarah Pope, a mother and Nutrition Education and Chapter Leader for the Weston A. Price Foundation, tells the story on her blog of how her young son's cavity was completely healed through one simple dietary, as well as supplementation with a combination of two powerful healing oils.

When Sarah's husband first noticed the deep crater on the side their son's lateral incisor tooth, the couple immediately decided to call the dentist and schedule an appointment to have it filled. Whole Foods Market supports 'pink' breast cancer awareness campaigns that fund drug industry

(www.Borganic.org) There is a small endorsement on the company's main website, but it has come to our attention that at least some Whole Foods Market stores in California, Florida and certain other areas have been openly endorsing Breast Cancer Awareness month, as well as a specific group called Pink United that funds the same "breast cancer research" initiatives promoted by groups like Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Extensive research has shown that the massive Susan G. Komen for the Cure campaign is not actually focused on finding a real cure, but instead on generating as much awareness (revenue) as possible for the cancer industry, which thrives on a steady stream of patients getting chemotherapy, radiation, and surgeries. And now it appears that since at least 2007, Whole Foods has been endorsing, albeit in a more subdued way, the very same cause.

Robert Scott Bell reports that a portion of profits generated from the sale of Pink United products, which are available in many Whole Foods stores, is donated to various cancer charities. These include the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Living Beyond Breast Cancer, and of course Susan G. Komen for the cure. All of these groups support conventional cancer treatments while ignoring nutrition and lifestyle based breast cancer prevention methods.

Why would Whole Foods Market, whose stores are filled with anti-cancer foods and supplements, endorse groups that fund the drug industry and its conventional (phony) solutions for treating breast cancer? This is a question to which we, as well as thousands of Whole Foods customers, would like to know the answer.

Whole Foods does not openly endorse Susan G. Komen for the Cure, but it has partnered with a group that does. And the products sold by this group in Whole Foods stores, which include many of those same tacky and crass "boob" items that other mainstream breast cancer groups often sell these days, are helping to fund the very same industries that scoff at breast cancer prevention and other alternative methods of approaching the breast cancer epidemic.

How canned foods are poisoning us

(www.Borganic.org) The Breast Cancer Fund recently tested 12 brand name canned soup and pasta products and found bisphenol A, or BPA, in all of them. BPA is a hormone-mimicking toxin that also has recently been found to impact our DNA and to kill off female ovarian cells in a way that may cause Down Syndrome and fertility problems in future generations. While BPA shouldn't be in any of us, children are thought to be the most susceptible and the soups and pastas tested were marketed toward children.

In the testing, 34 to 148 parts per billion of BPA were found in the soups and 10 to 34 ppb in the pastas. A few months ago, the FDA also found BPA in 71 of 78 canned goods they tested. The FDA also tested different types of foods, including canned tuna and vegetables, and in these foods they found much higher levels of BPA - ranging from 300 ppb to more than 700 parts per billion.

Some research shows that BPA is eliminated quickly from the body, but the problem with this research is that it looks at it from a one-time dose situation, as opposed to a more true to life repeated exposure situation. And with continual exposure, it tends to accumulate.

Canned foods are also not the only foods contaminated with BPA; it's also in plastic wrapped food products. And according to Environmental Working Group research, it's in the blood of 9 out of 10 infants at birth.

Cheryl Rosenfeld and her colleagues from the University of Missouri, Columbia looked at BPA exposure from a different angle and tested mice with a more true to life scenario. They fed these mice food laced with a little BPA each day and found that with chronic dietary exposure, the animals exhibited "the potential to bioaccumulate BPA over time." Then Rosenfeld tells us that there's no reason to expect the human body would respond any differently.

The researchers also found that BPA absorbs in the body in a greater degree when it is consumed with food, rather than taken as a one-time dose without food.

"What we found," Rosenfeld said, "is that when animals are exposed through the diet, they actually show increased absorption of BPA" as opposed to when they get a single larger dose.

Monsanto is secretly poisoning the population with Roundup

(www.Borganic.org) Dr. Andreas Carrasco remained in the locked car and watched with fear as the crowd beat the vehicle and shouted at him -- for two hours. His friends who didn't make it into the vehicle were not so lucky. One ended up paralyzed. Another unconscious. The angry crowd of about 100 were likely organized by a local rice grower who was furious at Carrasco for what he was trying to do that day. Carrasco's crime? Telling people that Roundup herbicide from Monsanto causes birth defects in animals, and probably humans.

Carrasco is a leading embryologist at the University of Buenos Aires Medical School and the Argentinean national research council. He had heard the horrific stories of peasant farmers working near the vast fields of Roundup Ready soybeans -- plants genetically engineered to withstand generous doses of Monsanto's poisonous weed killer. The short-term impact of getting sprayed was obvious: skin rashes, headaches, loss of appetite, and for one 11 year old Paraguayan boy named Silvino Talavera, who biked through a fog of herbicides in 2003, death. But Carrasco also heard about the rise of birth defects, cancer, and other disorders that now plagued the peasants who were sprayed by plane. He decided to conduct a study.

Exposing Roundup's 30 year cover-up of birth defects

Carrasco injected minute amounts of Roundup into chicken and frog embryos, and sure enough, the offspring exhibited the same type of birth deformities that the peasant communities were seeing in their newborns. A report by the provincial government of Chaco soon followed, confirming that those living near soy and rice fields sprayed with Roundup and other chemicals did in fact have higher rates of birth defects -- nearly a fourfold increase between 2000-2009. (Child cancer rates tripled during the same period.)

Regulatory agencies had given Roundup a green light years before, claiming that it was free of such problems. However after Carrasco's findings were published, European authorities quietly pushed their official re-assessment of Roundup, due in 2012, back to 2015. And the German Federal Office for Consumer Protection and Food Safety, charged with responding to Carrasco's findings, issued a statement claiming that the Argentine scientist must be mistaken; earlier studies conducted by manufacturers of Roundup (including Monsanto) had already demonstrated that Roundup does not cause birth defects.

But in June 2011, a group of international scientists released a report detailing a massive cover-up that went back to the 1980s. The very industry studies cited by the German Consumer Protection office in fact showed just the opposite. Roundup did increase birth defects. Using scientific sleight of hand, Europe's regulators had ignored statistically significant increases in birth defects, and so did every other regulatory agency worldwide. Monsanto has relied on these misleading statements of safety by regulators ever since, using them to deny that Roundup causes birth defects.

Monsanto secretly poisoning the population, again and again

Covering up toxic effects of their products was not new for Monsanto. They're experts at it. In 2003 the company paid $700 million in settlements for secretly poisoning the population living next to their PCB factory in Anniston, Alabama. Court documents showed the arrogance of Monsanto executives made aware of the product's effects: "We can't afford to lose $1 of business," was the written response in a secret company memo.

Leaked documents also revealed that EPA scientists had charged Monsanto with fraudulently hiding the toxic effects of Agent Orange -- effectively preventing Vietnam veterans from collecting compensation for cancer, birth defects, and other symptoms of exposure.

When Carrasco first reported his findings, he got the usual treatment. His results were vehemently denied, and he was attacked in the press by biotech advocates. Four highly aggressive men showed up at his office and tried to interrogate him, but he wasn't physically attacked. Not until he tried to give a speech on his results in the small Argentine farm town of La Leonesa on August 7, 2010. That was unusual.

Punishing messengers worldwide

When Dr. Irina Ermakova came to her office, the meaning of the charred remains of papers on her desk was unambiguous -- it was yet another attempt to intimidate or punish her. So was the theft of samples from her laboratory, and the continuous verbal attacks by biotech advocates. Her crime? She fed rats genetically modified Roundup Ready soy, and reported the results.

Those results were clearly not what the sellers of GM soy wanted us to hear. After female rats were fed GM soy, more than half their babies died within three weeks. The rat pups were also considerably smaller, and in a later experiment, were unable to reproduce. Offspring from mothers fed non-GM soybeans, on the other hand, died at only a 10% rate, and were able to mate successfully.

Journal ambushes scientist

After Ermakova presented the results as "preliminary" at an October 2005 conference, the biotech industry's damage control teams kicked into high gear. At the center of the coordinated attack was the editor of the journal Nature Biotechnology and four biotech advocates. According to Ermakova, the editor contacted her and told her he was going to include a description of her study as a sort of essay in the journal. She was then asked to summarize her research over the phone, or if she preferred, in writing. Ermakova, a senior scientist at the Russian Academy of Sciences, was surprised by the request and asked instead to properly submit the findings for peer review and publication. Oh no, the editor insisted, he just wanted a summary. She sent it in, and the journal sent Ermakova back a proof of the article, with her named as the author.

But that was just a "dummy proof." What was actually published was quite different. Instead of an essay, the journal had inserted scathing criticisms from the four biotech advocates after nearly every paragraph. Many of Ermakova's citations were also stripped off and replaced with those chosen by the biotech detractors -- to weaken her case. It was an academic lynch mob, conducted by four biotech apologists: Bruce Chassy, Vivian Moses, Val Giddings, and Alan McHughen. All acknowledged that they had no personal experience in the type of research they were condemning, but that didn't stop them from throwing every type of challenge they could think of at Ermakova.

The purpose of the attack was transparent. It allowed the biotech industry to claim from that point forward that the study showing high death rates was officially refuted and discredited. It also served as a warning: if anyone wanted to defend Ermakova (or do similar research) they too would be mercilessly attacked.

The problem was that nearly all their criticisms were utterly baseless. About 75 % of their arguments, for example, were simply complaints that she didn't provide sufficient detail. Now remember -- she was told to only provide a summary. Her request to the editor to submit complete details was denied. It was quite a setup. When the details of this ambush were made public, independent scientists charged Nature Biotechnology with an unethical "premeditated attack." At least one letter called on the editor to resign.

It didn't happen. Instead, international pressure against Ermakova got so intense, her boss told her not to do any more studies on GMOs. One of her colleagues even tried to comfort her by suggesting that perhaps the GM soy could solve the human overpopulation problem. (She wasn't comforted.)

Real life confirms research: GM soy = high infant mortality for rats

The main valid criticism against Ermakova's research was that she failed to conduct a biochemical analysis of the feed. Without that, we don't know if some rogue toxin present in the bag of soy flour might have been responsible for the astonishing death rate and stunted growth in her experiment. But subsequent events at her laboratory suggest otherwise.

After Ermakova repeated the test three times with similar results, the supplier of rat food used at the facility began using GM soy in the formulation. With all the rats now eating GM soy, Ermakova couldn't conduct any more experiments (she had no controls). After two months, however, she asked her colleagues at the lab about the mortality rate in their rat experiments. It turned out that 99 of 179 (55.3%) rat pups whose parents were fed GM soy-based rat chow had died within the first 20 days. Thus, whatever caused the high death rate does not appear to be confined to the one batch of GM flour used in her experiment. Both the study, and the subsequent laboratory-wide mortality rate, are published in the Russian peer-reviewed journal Ecosinform.

Horrific reproductive disorders

Other studies on Roundup Ready soy also show scary reproductive problems. Ermakova showed that the testicles of rats fed GM soy changed from the normal pink to blue (not published). Peer-reviewed research from Italy also showed changes in mice testicles, including alterations in young sperm cells. A Brazilian team found changes in the uterus and ovaries of female rats. The DNA of mice embryos functioned differently, compared to those whose parents were fed non-GM soy. And when hamsters were fed GM soy for two years, by the third generation, most lost the ability to have babies. The offspring grew at a slower rate and the infant mortality rate was 4-5 times that of the non-GM soy group. Many also had hair growing in their mouths.

When the Austrian government tested Roundup Ready corn (which was also engineered to produce an insecticide), mice had fewer – and smaller – babies.

It's not possible to know if the reproductive damage was due to the genetic changes in the GM crops, the high residues of Roundup in the GM soybeans and corn, or some other reason. But the American Academy of Environmental Science is among the medical organizations that don't need more animal studies before issuing a warning. They urge all doctors to prescribe non-GMO diets to everyone.

Omnipresent Roundup literally falls from the sky

Although eliminating Roundup Ready soy and corn from our diet will certainly reduce our intake of Roundup, a recent study suggests that getting our exposure down to zero is not possible. In the Midwest during the growing season, Roundup is found in 60–100% of air and rain samples, as well as in streams.

The omnipresence of Roundup in the US is due in large part to the more than 100 million acres of Roundup Ready crops. As farmers pour on Monsanto's weed killer, weeds are learning to adapt and withstand the poison -- so farmers pour on more. In the first 13 years since GM crops were introduced, the use of herbicide-tolerant crops resulted in an additional 383 million pounds more herbicide. And due to the emergence of superweeds (now found in 11 million acres), the increased use of Roundup is accelerating dramatically.

USDA solution? Even more Roundup

The USDA has a unique response to this mounting threat: Add more Roundup. In January 2011 they deregulated yet another Roundup Ready crop, alfalfa -- which is widely used for animal feed. Only 7% of the more than 20 million acres of this crop typically gets any herbicide applied to it. But that's about to change, since Roundup Ready alfalfa will soon be drinking Roundup in a hay field near you.

Not content with just the alfalfa, on July 1 the USDA told Scotts Miracle-Gro that it could introduce Roundup Ready Kentucky Bluegrass to lawns, golf courses, and soccer fields around the nation, without any government oversight.

So now we have Roundup in our food, animal feed, air, rain, and streams, and soon it will be sprayed in high doses where our children play on the grass. It's not just birth defects that may soon plague America as a result. Roundup is also linked to cancer, endocrine disruption, lower sperm counts, abnormal sperm, human cell death, miscarriages, and other disorders. But it's also linked to billions in profits for Monsanto. No wonder they are working overtime to silence the scientists and cover-up the findings. What if people knew the truth?

USDA threatens $60,000 fine, federal raid against woman in legal possession of indoor lemon tree

(www.Borganic.org) The US government's assault against innocent American citizens continues to get more aggressive and just plain strange, with new reports of harassment against honest owners of ordinary lemon trees. Health Freedom Alliance (HFA) reports that officials from the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) are now spying on people whom they suspect are in possession of ordinary lemon trees, and threatening them with excessive fines and even federal raids if they refuse to surrender the plants on demand.

Several years ago, Bridget Donovan, who has now been dubbed "The Lemon Tree Lady," purchased a Meyer lemon tree from meyerlemontree.com. A resident of Wisconsin, Donovan purchased the tree legally and in full accordance with all federal and state laws regulating citrus transport, and had lovingly cultivated and cared for her indoor citrus plant for nearly three years.

Then, out of nowhere, Donovan received an unexpected letter from the USDA informing her that government officials were going to come and seize her tree and destroy it -- and that she was not going to be compensated for her loss. The letter also threatened that if Donovan was found to be in possession of "regulated citrus" again, she could be fined up to $60,000.

Donovan was shocked, to say the least, as her tree was not a "regulated citrus." The store from which she purchased it is fully legitimate, and she had done absolutely nothing wrong. But it turns out Donovan and many others who had also purchased similar citrus plants had faced, or were currently facing, the very same threats made against them by the USDA.

Most of those targeted simply surrendered their trees without trying to fight back, Donovan discovered. And while she, herself put up a hefty fight in trying to get honest answers in order to keep her tree, Donovan was eventually forced to surrender it as well. And worst of all, many of those who were told that a replacement tree would be in "compliance" later had those trees confiscated, too.

Why has the USDA been targeting lemon tree owners? The answer is unclear, other than that they are a supposed threat to the citrus industry. And a USDA official admitted to Donovan that the agency has been spying on those suspected of owning lemon trees, and targeting all found to be in possession with threats of fines and raids if they failed to give them up -- and the agency has been doing this without a valid warrant.

"I felt utterly violated, angry, and upset," Donovan is quoted as saying by HFA. "I pay my taxes, I obey the law, and this is how I was treated? I did nothing wrong. I would expect these action (sic) toward someone running a drug house, not someone who owned a lemon tree."
