My 11 year old daughter found this recipe in the newspaper. The other night she surprised her mother and i with this heavenly cake. As i took a few bites the taste and smell reminder me of a time when i was around 8 years old or so. why did i eat half of the cake and felt so good about it. Make the cake with all organic items and you will be coming back for more. Offered by Organic food challenge.
1\2 cup Butter
2 cups of Organic Sugar
2 Organic Eggs
2 teaspoons of organic vanilla
2 cups of Organic Flour
2 teaspoons of baking soda
2 teaspoons of nutmeg
2 teaspoons of cinnamon
1 teaspoon of sea salt
4 tablespoons of hot water
5 cups diced apple, peeled and core
1 cup chopped walnuts
Cream butter an sugar together. Stir in eggs and vanilla.
Sift together flour, baking soda, nutmeg, cinnamon and salt.
Stir half of the flour mixture into the shorting mixture. Beat in two tablespoons of hot water. Stir in remaining water, beating after each addition. Stir in diced apples and nuts. Spread in two greased 9 x 9 pans, or one 9 x 13
Bake at 350 f for 45 to 50 minutes, or until sides pull away from pan.
